I don't know about the rest of you, but I spent the day just getting over the shock. This evening I put my job search into hyper drive. I was expecting to have about 11 months to find a new gig, but I will have about 2 before I start consuming savings at an alarming rate.
I'll be here tomorrow to see what is up with the rest of you.

If being laid off wasn't bad enough, Nortel's not honoring our severance contracts adds insult to injury. Being single and having no other income coming in, I am really under the gun to find a job now!

This week is the last paycheck...whenever we get it...payroll glitch. Medical is done 2/6...HR is supposed to send Cobra info to us and vacation pay is still being debated.
Futher your pension if you have one left will be frozen from 30 days from your inactive date...the problem is the termination date is still being debated.
Wish the news were better.
