I heard this information from two or more sources today. It may, therefore, be accurate.
1. Vacation Pay - they will pay us for vacation accrued and including what we accrue in the month of January. They are unsure as to the pay period they will be able to pay but they are working. More than likely the 2/13 pay period
2. Unemployment - The term date will be the 60 day date on your severance. If you file unemployment and the agency calls Nortel, they will tell the rep that your last day you received a paycheck was 1/16
3. 401K - the term date will be 2/13...there will be a 30 day freeze from that date.
They did promise to send information but of course not a definitive date...but they were working it promptly as they know we need the paper work to proceed.

I was given the same information from a NT HR prime.

I have a couple of questions... A local news station reported that all severance would halt as of January 31st, the 1/31 check would have been my last "notice" paycheck but I'm assuming that 01/16 was my real last check contrary to what the media reported? Has anyone filed a "proof of claim" yet with the Bankruptcy caretakers? I'm planning to, but was wondering if people were just claiming severance pay or the severance plus lost benefits?
ReplyDeleteFor folks in the US, I filed for Unemployment on January 16 to coincide with my last paycheck. HR Shared indicated that when state unemployment offices would call for verification, that they would be told that our last paycheck was January 16. I have not yet been told that my claims have been denied, but I have not yet received notification that they have been approved as of yet. Anyone had any issues or been approved for unemployment?
ReplyDeleteI called HR today and they said that we would get a paycheck this Friday for unused Vacation Days.
